Affiliate marketing is an ever growing niche on the internet. There is a broad range of affiliates worldwide striving to make money. What do some affiliates always seem to prosper and are usually ranking at the top?.  I have found that they have several traits in common that make them rise to the top of their industry. In this article we are going to discuss those traits.

They know what they are selling, and understand that in order to promote a service or a product, you have to believe in your product or service, before you can effectively sell it to someone else. You can not target your prospect until you understand what they want and need. All successful affiliates become personally acquainted with the product, service, or business they are marketing. 

Effective affiliate marketing requires you to learn how to communicate openly and listen carefully. You should be listening 70% of the time and asking questions 30% of the time. By getting to know the prospect, you gain their trust and faith in your opportunity, product or service. You never know when you will pick up a morsel of information that you can use. Stay in touch with the people that get involved with you, learn to become a servant affiliate and show a real caring attitude towards their needs and wants.

Learn to diversify your affiliate marketing, by using different marketing methods. Remember there are lots of different marketing techniques. Using different techniques will provide a better fit for each marketing campaign. Allow yourself the liberty to be creative and to brainstorm about the best solutions for the situation. Just because a set of methods worked well for the last three projects does not mean that it will be the bestfit for the next one. Some examples of different marketing techniques: Web 2.0, PPC, article marketing, video marketing and more.


Content is King, No matter how much work you put into driving targeted prospects to your site or blog, the site itself must keep them there and prompt them to a call to action. You achieve this by adding value and good content to your site or blog. The types of content that can sell include helpful reviews, testimonials, product or service tips and recommendations or interesting articles. Remember, that engaging content is not optional, it is necessary.

The fact remains that a small percentage of affiliates procure a large percentage of the industry's business. While some affiliates struggle to make $1, others soar to the top of their group. If your willing to embrace the product, take the time to communicate well, implement multiple marketing strategies, monitor and adjusting your strategies, and adhere to the rule that content can never be a mere filler, you too can become a super affiliate.
